Liverpool got off to a great start in this year’s English Premier League season. They opened with three consecutive wins, including a win over Manchester United and sat atop the table early. That all slipped away temporarily after a draw and a loss. Liverpool rebounded with a win and find themselves back near the top of the table.
Their opponent on Saturday, Crystal Palace, hasn’t had quite the same start to the season. They were promoted to the EPL this summer and are struggling to gain any ground. Currently, Crystal Palace sits in 19th place.
In last week’s win we got to see strikers Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge work together. Sturridge had one goal and assisted both of Luis Suarez’s two goals.
“In Suarez and Sturridge, I’ve got what I call two ‘nine-and-a-halves’,” Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said, ESPN FC. ”They both like to move, they like to drift and they both like to go into the half-positions in between the lines.
“You’ve got two great players as your front two and then you build the structure around that.”
